Find projects before they make headlines

We monitor hundreds of public sources every day: air permits, building permits, zoning changes, utility filings and interconnection queues. That’s how we find projects months before anyone announces them.

We were the first to report Amazon’s GW Ranch in West Texas, one of the largest data center projects in the world. It will run on its own gas plant.

Amazon GW Ranch example

Data center and on-site gas plant in Pecos County, Texas

  1. January 2026Texas regulators approve an air permit for a 5,000 MW gas plant in Pecos County, built to power an AI data center. The applicant is Pacifico GW LLC, and Amazon's name isn't on it. Our monitoring flags the permit and we start tracking the site.
  2. August 4, 2026A state building registration connects Amazon to the site. Amazon confirms our research.
  3. August 7, 2026We publish the story in the Cleanview newsletter.
  4. August 8, 2026The New York Times and outlets around the world pick it up.

Researched by analysts, one document at a time

Our analysts read permits, SEC filings and utility planning documents to find each project’s location, power capacity, size and tenant. AI tools help us find documents. People read them and make the calls.

Verified with satellite images

We check every project’s status and location from above. Monthly images show how fast construction is moving. High-resolution images, sharp enough to count generators and cooling units, show what stage a building has reached.

Power capacity for every building, year by year

We track two numbers. Facility power is everything the building draws from the grid. IT capacity is the power that reaches the servers.

We find them in developer disclosures, utility filings and air permits. When we check our estimates against figures developers later publish, we’re consistently within 5%.

Know who’s behind every lease

The company that builds a data center often isn’t the one that uses it. We track the developer, the tenant and the end user of each building.

Some deals come from press releases. Many come from documents few people read: bond offerings, tax abatement filings and SEC disclosures.

See where the power comes from

For grid-connected data centers, we identify the utility and the power market serving each site. For data centers that build their own power plants, our behind-the-meter tracker covers the plants and the equipment inside them.
