Cleanview is a market intelligence platform that tracks data centers, renewable energy projects, and power plants across the United States. We process data from local permits, interconnection queues, EIA filings, FERC documents, SEC filings, and dozens of other public sources to help business development teams, analysts, and investors understand what's being built, where, and by whom.
Our research has been cited in The Washington Post, The New York Times, Reuters, Axios, Politico, and leading industry publications — and one recent investigation prompted a U.S. Senate inquiry. We're a profitable, bootstrapped company growing fast.
The role
Cleanview is hiring a Senior Writer & Researcher to produce our published research: the deep reports our enterprise customers pay for, and the free analysis that reaches everyone else.
Here are some examples of the type of work you'd be producing:
Key responsibilities
- Write our flagship reports. 50–75 pages, built from our data, public records, and interviews.
- Write for our newsletter and website. Shorter pieces on what our data is showing and what's moving the market.
- Talk to the press. The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and The Washington Post cite our research regularly. You'll help reporters understand what our data shows.
- Talk to customers. Occasional calls with some of the largest developers and investors in the world to walk through what you're finding.
Required skills and experience
- Strong writer — you can make a complicated market legible without dumbing it down
- Industry experience: power markets, utilities, and/or data centers
- Comfortable with large datasets; SQL or Python a plus, not required
Nice to have
- Long-form research reports, market outlooks, or annual studies
- SEO fluency
- Comfortable using AI tools for research and drafting
Compensation & benefits
Base salary: $90,000–$120,000 per year. Compensation depends on depth of domain experience and prior experience.
